Nel nucleo storico del capoluogo di Beura, vicino alla Casa Ferrari, sorge un edificio detto “II castello”.
Esso è composto da una torre risalente al 1300 circa, formata da tre piani, a cui si accede da una porta che si apre a circa un metro dal suolo e sul cui architrave è scolpito lo stemma dei Visconti. Nel 1599 venne rimaneggiato, come testimonia una data incisa su di una porta, aggiungendo un portico sormontato da due locali destinati a cucina e soggiorno, comunicanti con la primitiva torre mediante un loggiato. Più tardi furono aggiunti altri locali sul lato nord.
Il secolo scorso il "castello" era abitato da una anziana signora detta “La castellana”. Oggi è un'abitazione privata.
In the historical centre of Beura, near the Ferrari House, there is a building known as “II Castello” (The castle).
It consists of a tower dating back to the 14th century, with three floors, which can be accessed through a door that opens about a meter from the ground and on whose lintel the coat of arms of the Visconti family is carved. In 1599 it was restructured, as the date carved on a door testifies, adding a porch surmounted by two rooms used as a kitchen and a living room, annexed to the primitive tower by means of an open gallery. Later, other rooms were added on the northern side.
During the last century the “castle” was inhabited by an old lady known as “La castellana” (the chatelaine). Today it is a private house.
