L’antico torchio funzionante dalla seconda metà del 1600 venne utilizzato per la macinazione sia delle vinacce, che delle noci che della segale, per ottenere rispettivamente il vino, l’olio come combustibile per le lampade e la farina per il pane. Posto in un classico fabbricato rurale, con muri a secco dell’epoca, il torchio è situato in un unico locale che racchiude un’enorme trave in castagno di larghezza pari a 70 cm, nel quale entra una vite di legno di 3,5mt che sollevava il blocco di granito di circa 30 quintali. Si dice che per la costruzione del torchio, più precisamente per portare all’interno dell’edificio la grossa trave di castagno venne demolito il timpano in pietra del frontone posteriore e ricostruito. Il torchio è di proprietà privata e attualmente non è visitabile.
The ancient press, which has been operating since the second half of the 17th century, was used for the grinding of marc, walnuts and rye, in order to obtain wine, oil as fuel for lamps and flour for bread, respectively. The press is located in a rural building, with the dry walls of the period, in a single room that encloses a huge chestnut beam with a width of 70 cm, into which enters a wooden screw of 3,5 m that supports the granite block of about 30 quintals. It is said that for the construction of the press, more precisely to bring the large chestnut beam inside the building, the stone tympanum of the rear pediment was demolished and then rebuilt. The press is a private property and it is currently not open to visitors.
