La figura della sarta Palma, che abitò ad Aurano fino ad alcuni anni fa, è scolpita nella memoria e nell'affetto di tutta la comunità. Era una sarta "itinerante", ovvero portava in giro per il paese la sua macchina da cucire per raggiungere nelle case coloro che avessero bisogno delle sue creazioni: rammendi, rattoppi, ma anche abiti su misura, grembiuli per i bambini, ecc. Con la gerla sulle spalle in cui metteva tutto il necessario, la sarta era un punto di riferimento nella vita quotidiana.
