Il lavatoio, isolato rispetto ai centri abitati ed in mezzo al bosco, è stato costruito in questo luogo per la presenza di una sorgente di acqua tiepida che, anche in inverno, non gela mai. Il lavatoio era utilizzato da tutto il paese soprattutto in inverno: le donne percorrevano un lungo tragitto, spesso innevato, portando sulle spalle la gerla con i panni. In estate si utilizzava anche il torrente Graglia.
Il lavatoio si presenta con la struttura in pietra locale a vasca unica con quattro lastre in pietra inclinate ove le donne si appoggiavano, inginocchiate, per lavare. Nella vasca grande si lavava tutte insieme, mentre nella fontana di sorgente si sciacquavano i panni a turno.
The wash-tub, isolated from the inhabited centres and located in the middle of the wood, was built in this place due to the presence of a source of lukewarm water that, even in winter, never freezes. The wash-tub was used by the whole village especially in winter: women walked on a long path, often snow-covered, carrying the pannier on their shoulders with the clothes to be washed. In summer the river Graglia was also used.
The structure of the wash-tub consists of a single basin of local stone with four inclined stone slabs on which the women kneeled to wash. In the large tub all the women washed together, while in the spring fountain the clothes were rinsed in turn.
