Nata a Suna di Verbania nel 1904, fu fucilata a Beura Cardezza il 27 giugno 1944. Era operaia tessile e maestra di telaio alla Rhodiaceta, rimasta vedova a soli 25 anni. Quando l'unico figlio (Gianni Soffaglio, classe 1928), decise di andare in montagna con i partigiani, non esitò a raggiungerlo. Catturata dai nazifascisti che la incarcerarono e la torturarono per estorcerle informazioni sulla Resistenza. Teresa Binda non parlò e fu fucilata: è Medaglia d'oro al Merito civile alla memoria.
Born in Suna di Verbania in 1904, she was shot in Beura Cardezza on June 27, 1944. She was a textile worker and a loom teacher at Rhodiaceta, widowed at only 25 years old. When her only son (Gianni Soffaglio, born in 1928) decided to go to the mountains with the partisans, she did not hesitate to reach him. She was captured by the Nazi-Fascists who imprisoned and tortured her to extort information from her about the resistance. Teresa Binda did not speak and was shot: she was awarded the Gold Medal for Civil Merit.
