Sulla mulattiera che da Cossogno conduce a Ungiasca si trova una piccola cappella votiva a botte dedicata a Sant’Antonio, ora totalmente spoglia. E’ l’unica di questo genere nel territorio di Cossogno e probabilmente la più antica come struttura rispetto alle cappelle a capanna, normalmente dotate di porticato dinnanzi, risalenti al secolo XV-XVI, come la Cappella del Gasc (
link), e le successive a pilone o edicola prive di spazio interno diffuse a partire dal XVII/XVIII secolo come la Cappella delle Croci (
link) e le cappelle della Via Crucis
(link).
On the mule track that leads from Cossogno to Ungiasca there is a small votive barrel vault chapel dedicated to S. Anthony, now totally bare. It is the only one in its kind in the territory of Cossogno and probably the oldest structure as compared to the hut chapels, normally equipped with porches dating back to the 15th and 16th centuries, such as the Cappella del Gasc (
link), and the following ones with aedicula without inner space, spread in the 17th/18th century, such as the Cappella delle Croci (
link) and the chapels of the Way of the Cross
(link).
